For the past 16 years I have been a Resource Specialist serving the needs of the learning disabled by providing tools and modified curricula that allow the student to succeed in school.  10 of those 16 years have been at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton California.  The concept of Enlightening Learners has been the by-product of my desire to grow as a teacher and advocate for the learning disabled.

Prior to being  a teacher I served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps where I served with First Battalion 9th Marines (1985-1991) as a team leader for a Marine Amphibious Unit.  During the Marines I discovered the game of rugby and have been playing or refereeing since 1987.  In 1999 I retired from playing and started refereeing and since 2003 I have been a member of the USA Rugby National Panel of Referees which provides me the opportunity to travel and referee at the highest levels of rugby in the US and abroad.

I completed my degrees in Education and Special Education while attending San Jose State University.
